Parents are shocked

Chandru stopped the bike in front of the house. The car he had sent to pick up Shermi was parked outside the gate. Driver was standing near the car.

Car driver came near him. “Sir, she has not yet arrived.”

Chandru was shocked. He opened the house lock and entered the house. He entered his room and saw the letter on the bed. He was surprised. He took the letter adn read it.

Shermi had written, “Dear daddy and mommy, please forgive me. I am not interested in the marriage. I am in love with another boy who is not of our cast. I am sure that you will not allow me to marry him. I think it is better for me to get married to the person I love. So I am going away with him. Please forgive me.”

Chandru was shocked. He drank water and put his head in his handed. He felt tired. Then he lifted both his hands and looked at the photo of god with a heavy heart. He opened the cupboard and was shocked to see that both the suitcases were missing.

Tears appear in his eyes. He picked up his cell. “Madhavi, come home quickly.”

Madhavi immediately went home. She was full of anxiety. She opened the door and entered the room. She saw her husband in a disappointed state. “What has happened to you?”

She looked around. “Where is she?”

Chandru said angrily, “She has deceived us totally. See this letter.”

He handed over the letter to Madhavi. He was crying.

Madhavi read the letter. “Oh god! What has she done? How can she do this to us?”

Chandru pointed to the cupboard. “She had taken everything. The cash, the ornaments. What wrong have we done to her? We looked after her like so lovingly.”

Madhavi said, “Computer class, computer class. She kept giving all sorts of excuses. She has been fooling us for a long time.”

Chandru was worried. “How can we face Jaidev now?”

“Let us inform him. He will definitely be able to catch her.”

She tried to contact Jaidev through cell. But his cell was switched off. “Jaidev has switched off his cell.”

Chandru said, “You try his other number.”

Madhavi tried the other number. It was also switched off.

Chandru said, “Ah ha. Jaidev told that he will be in tender. He will not switch on his cell there. What shall we do now? If we want to meet him personally, we will have to travel 40 to 50 kms.”

Madhavi said desperately, “What to do? I feel like taking poison and dying.”

She fell on his chest and cried loudly.

Chandru said, “I don’t think that she has gone far. Let us go and meet the police commissioner, who is a friend of Jaidev. I am sure that he will help us.”
