Deepak calls but Shermi has changed

Shermi waited in a car near Nehru park. Her cell rang. She thought it must be Avinash. But it was Deepak. For the first time she was disappointed on getting his phone call.

Deepak asked, “Shermi, how are you?”

Shermi was disturbed but recovered. “I am fine.”

Shermi was not able to think of anything to say. She remained silent. Deepak was surprised.

Deepak was surprised. “Hallo, why are you so short? Are you feeling fine?”

Shermi recovered. “I am all right. How are you?”

“I am fine in everything but one minus point in one thing only.”

Shermi asked, “Tell me what that minus point is?”

“Without you, I feel like I have lost something. I feel like I am in a desert.”

Shermi was shocked. She closed her eyes.

Deepak asked, “Why are you so silent? Why are you not saying anything?”

Shermi said quickly, “Nothing like that.”

“I think you are a bit disturbed. I have purchased so many surprise gifts for you, you know?”

Shermi remained cool. “Is it? Thank you very much.”

Deepak said, “You should not say thanks to me. It is my duty. I can do anything for you. You are my lovely wife.”

Suddenly shermi heard a car horn. Avinash was sitting in a car. Shermi gave him a smile. Then she said on phone, “Deepak. I am in a car now. I will call you later.”

She cut off the cell and then thought, “Maybe I am cheating Deepak. What to do. Avinash is pulling my hart strings again like a magnet.”

Shermi laughed.

Avinash got down from his car and approached her. “My car or your car?”

Shermi smiled, “As you wish.”

“Do one thing. Park your car here and we will go in my car.”

Shermi got down and locked her car. Then she climbed into his car.

Avinash asked, “Can we go now?”

Shermi nodded and Avinash started the car. “Once we used to go in a motorbike, remember?”

Shermi closed her eyes and felt love towards him.
